If properly maintained they will last a lifetime, whereas the average carpet needs to be replaced every 10-12 years.

Red oak is number one for usage in homes and maple is preferred for commercial use, since it’s harder than oak. Maple is usually used for gyms, basketball courts, dance floors, etc.

Normally it's a three-day process, but allow four depending on weather conditions. Just in case.

There will be a fine film in sanded areas. To protect the rest of your home we recommend applying plastic to doorways using 3M blue tape and thin plastic film.

An oil base poly takes about 24 hours and a water based poly takes 4-6 hours.

Wait at least 24 hours after the final coat is applied and don't forget to add protective felts to the bottoms of all of your furniture. Do not use any large area rugs for at least 14 days and in the future use breathable perforated rubber pads under all rugs.

It's your choice! We have satin, semi-gloss or high gloss finishes available for your floor.

We generally start between 8:30 and 9:00 am. If the job doesn't need as much time we may start in the afternoon. Polyurethane application varies depending on the finishing crews route and will be decided on a day to day basis.

Around 70% after installation is completed and the balance is due upon completion of the finish out process.

It is a one-year limited warranty on all our floor installations and refinishes.

Humidity should be approximately 45%. A dry house during the heating season will cause the floor to shrink and crack and too much humidity will cause the floor to swell and cause the boards to cup or crown.
